C     AREFUL PLANNING AND RESEARCH ARE THE KEYS TO SUCCESS with any new bathroom or kitchen, and our professional showroom staff will make sure you've got all the necessary bases covered.

Are you envisioning contemporary, traditional or an eclectic mix? Consider the space you have to work with and think about the patterns with which you and your family use the bathroom now. Will you be able to achieve the bathroom you want while using existing plumbing? Will there be enough storage? What kind of lighting is needed? What kind of floor will your bare feet be walking on? Is your existing hot water supply adequate for the new bathroom?

Here are just a few tips and advice from our own in-house experts. This list is by no means comprehensive, but will touch on some things you definitely need to be aware of.

    toilet
  • All toilets require a specific rough in dimension. When replacing a toilet, verify the rough in dimension to make sure the new toilet will fit correctly. This can be done by measuring from the finished wall to the bolts that secure the toilet to the floor. The standard rough in dimension is twelve inches but can be ten or fourteen.
  • whirlpool bath
  • When installing a whirlpool or air tub be sure to leave access to the motor, any blowers or in line heaters in case they need to be replaced in the future. And when purchasing a soaking tub, whirlpool, air tub, or custom shower, be sure you have an adequate supply of hot water.
  • custom shower body spray
  • When designing a custom shower with body sprays, always use a 3/4” rough shower valve.
  • Consider a grab bar in the tub or shower for ease of entry and exit.
  • bathroom vanity
  • When selecting a vanity make sure when opening any doors or drawers they don’t hit any obstructions.
  • bathroom floor with radiant heat
  • Consider radiant heat. Even if your home has an existing heating system floor warming in bathrooms can be achieved with cost effective electric radiant heat.
  • bathroom accessories
  • Don’t forget to purchase your accessories. Accessories to match your lavatory and shower faucets are often available. Also, new cabinet hardware is a great way to bring your kitchen and bath cabinets to life. View an extensive selection in our showroom.
