Tips for Getting Started

KITCHEN AND BATH RENOVATION and construction isn’t for the weak of heart. One must be detail oriented, driven, a good communicator, all while at the same time exhibiting patience, and fortitude.

Here are just a few things to consider when embarking on your construction journey. This list is by no means comprehensive, but it’s a starting point.

toilet

All TOILETS require a specific rough in dimension. When replacing a toilet, verify the rough in dimension to make sure the new toilet will fit correctly. This can be done by measuring from the finished wall to the bolts that secure the toilet to the floor. The standard rough in dimension is twelve inches but can be ten or fourteen.

whirlpool bath When installing a WHIRLPOOL or AIR TUB be sure to leave access to the motor, any blowers or in line heaters in case they need to be replaced in the future. And when purchasing a soaking tub, custom shower body spray whirlpool, air tub, or custom shower, be sure you have an adequate supply of hot water.

When designing a custom BODY SPRAY shower, always use a 3/4” rough shower valve.

And consider a GRAB BAR in the tub or shower for ease of entry and exit.

Consider RADIANT HEAT. Even if your home has an existing heating system floor warming in bathrooms can be achieved with cost effective electric radiant heat.

When selecting a VANITY make sure when opening any doors or drawers they don’t hit any obstructions.

Don't forget to purchase your ACCESSORIES. Accessories to match your lavatory and shower faucets are often available. View an extensive selection in our showroom. Also, new cabinet hardware is a great way to bring your kitchen and bath cabinets to life.
